How do I get and PIN and PASSWORD for the BASICS.fst course?
Employees will request their training. Once approved by a Manager/Operator, the access PIN and PASSWORD will be sent to the email address filled out in the request form by the employee.
How computer literate do I need to be to take an online course?
Taking an online course is similar to reading a book. You can navigate though the chapters and pages in the same manner simply by clicking where you want to go. Instructions are provided throughout the course, and you can reach out for help via email, phone or chat.
Is Access Instant?
Yes. Once you have a PIN and PASSWORD you will be able to access the course. You can do this by clicking the "login to your account" button on the top of the home page of this portal.

Can I do the course in more than one sitting?
Yes, absolutely. We encourage you to work at the course at your own pace. The system will remember where you left off and start you there the next time you login.
Can I use different computers or tablets to access the course?
Yes, this is no problem. You can access your account 24/7 from any computer or tablet that has an internet connection.
What do I do if my password doesn’t work?
- Make sure your Caps Lock button is off as passwords are case sensitive.
- If you have logged in before, you would have been asked to change your password. If you have forgotten your new password simply click on the "Forgot my Password?" link on the student login page and your account info will be emailed to the email address you used when you first signed on.

How long do I have to finish the course(s) that I have enrolled in?
Your PIN and PASSWORD will not expire. Examinations must be scheduled within 8 weeks of your first log in.
Can I fail a course?
Yes: BASICS.
fst® requires a proctored examination upon completion. In order to obtain Certification documents you must pass this examination. Scores below 74% in BASICS.
fst® will not receive certification and require a retest. Retests can be requested and then distributed into your existing account. You are required to complete the BASICS.
fst retest review course before attempting the exam again.
How do I book my exam?
BASICS.
fst® requires a proctored examination upon
completion. All course participants will be presented with a list of exam locations, dates and times to reserve a seat for a specific exam upon successful completion of the online course. To be able to access the exam list you must have a) completed the online portion of the course and b) be logged into your employee account using your PIN and Password. You must register for an exam session in order to write the exam. If you do not register you will not be permitted to write.
